Clean up Fast with these 11 easy steps.

1. Freshen up your fabrics, 
Wash mattress pad, pillow coverings and pillows from everyone beds in the house (most pillows, beside foam, can all be washed in the washing machine,but check labels for specific laundering instructions)  Then do another load of bath mats, shower curtain, and even liners on a gentle cycle with color safe-bleach.
2. Sanitize, 
Sanitize your work areas, wipe down computer screens with a lightly dampened microfiber cloth.  DO the same with key boards, mouse pad and mouse and telephones.  
3.  Clean that Microwave, 
microwaves make messes, fresh lemons smell clean so try this easy cleaning tip- cut a lemon in half, put the pieces in a microwavable safe bowl with water to cover it, and cook on high for 2-3 minutes.  The steam will soften the hardened food inside and the you can enjoy the fresh scent,  Then grate the fruit in the garbage disposal to eliminate odors and grease gunk.
4.  Throw Rugs, 
Grab those throw rugs and take them outside for a good shake.  Then take them out on a clothesline or hanging them over a railing for several hours on a warm day.
5.  Fridge Purging, 
Pull that trash right over and lets get started. Dump the leftovers from last week, throw away the spoiled food, check expiration dates.  Toss open bottles of marinades from last summer, and condiments only used once and then pushed to the back of the fridge. If your feeling ambitious removed the glass shelves, drawers and bins and wash them or give them a fast once over with a wet clots or sponge.  Don't forget the outside, wipe down the doors and handles, and place a fresh box of baking soda to help with odors and put the date on it!
6. Clear off Table Clutter, 
pack up the tablecloth and replaces with fun color place mats, arrange fruit in a bowl, or a vase of fresh flowers in the middle of table. Mats are easier to keep clean, plus if your table looks set, your less likely to use it at a catch all for clutter.

​7.  Bring the outdoors indoors, 
Buy a few potted plants (pansies, gerbera daisies, fern or cactus) and put tuck them into nicer pots to display around your home. 
8.  Get rid of Garbage Odor, 
Take the whole garbage can outside for a quick rinse with the hose, turn it upside down to dry.  The sprinkle the bottoms with baking soda to keep cans clean and fresh
9. Clean the corners, 
Vacuum and dust in those corners on the floor and ceilings that you may miss on your normal routine cleanin
g. 
10.  In the Bathroom, 
Toss those old toiletries, see if your loofah or toothbrush needs replaces, you should get a new  toothbrush every 3 months and a loofah every 30 days.  Check the cabinet for expired medicines and trash them.  Clean out drawers with old make up and any other toiletries.
 

11.  Clean your stove, 
If you are lucky to have self cleaning over set and do all the rest of these on this list while it works its magic.  If you have to manually clean it get started, grab those gloves and focus on the worst stains.  Take a metal spatula and gently chip away at any gunk.  If this isn't enough spray with over cleaner let sit for required time and wipe out and follow directions.
 
Starting out with a plan or list always helps keep you on track and focused.  Gather up all the tools and supplies you need to get the house cleaned up and your will be ready to relax and enjoy the spring and summer.
